With Your Own Hands: Pom Pom Sandals

Hello, you may know pom poms are this summer's hottest trend, so we decided to do this DIY pom poms sandals perfect for this hot days. We're sure you've seen them online or in stores and know they're kind of pricy, so what's better then to have a crafternoon and make your own, and be on trend and save a few bucks in the process.
You will need:
- Scissors
- Pair of sandals (old or new)
- Needle and thread
- Pom poms
- Glue
- Yarn (cotton or acrylic)
- Fork
To make your pom poms:
1. Using a fork cut a small length of yarn and thread through the middle tine close to the base of the fork then wrap the yarn around the top of the fork about sixty times. Once you’ve done this tie a knot with the small length of yarn you threaded in the middle to secure, slide the ball of yarn off holding it by longest strings.
2. Snip each loop with a scissors and tie the longer pieces together tightly, finally cut each of the pieces and trim the ball to make sure every piece is roughly even.
3. Repeat step one and two with new yarn in different colors to create all your pom poms.
To make your sandals:
Finally it’s time to put your pom poms together, you can either sew,
tie or glue them to your sandals. We decided to tie and glue to secure them and voilà
done! Val wore them to the beach and they were a sensation.

Hola, seguro que ya saben que los pompones son tendencia para este verano, así que decidimos hacer este DIY de sandalias con pompones perfectas para estos días calientes. Estamos seguras de que las has visto en el internet o en las tiendas y has notado que son un poco caras, así que es mejor tener una tarde de manualidades y hacer tus propias sandalias.
Necesitarás:
- Tijeras
- Un par de sandalias (nuevas o usadas)
- Hilo y aguja
- Pompones
- Pegamento
- Hilo para tejer de algodón o acrílico
- Un tenedor
Para hacer los pompones:
1. Usando un tenedor, corta un pedazo de hilo y pásalo a través de la base del tenedor, luego envuelve el hilo alrededor de los dientes del tenedor unas 60 veces. Cuando hayas terminado esto ata con un nudo el pedazo de hilo para asegurar, desliza la bola de hilo y sujétala por la parte más larga.
2. Corta cada bucle con una tijera y ata las piezas más largas juntas firmemente, finalmente corta cada una de las piezas y vé recortando la bola para darle la forma, asegúrate de que cada pompón sea más o menos uniforme.
3. Repite pasos uno y dos con hilos nuevos y en diferentes colores para crear todos tus pompones.
Para hacer las sandalias:
Finalmente ha llegado el momento de poner tus pompones juntos,
puedes atarlos. coserlos o pegarlos a tus sandalias. Decidimos amarrarlos y usar el
pegamento para fijarlos y voilà ¡Hecho! Val los usó en la playa y fueron
una sensación.
