Art We Love: Ana Santos

Ana Santos is an artist and illustrator living and working in Spain. She has a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca with a specialization in Drawing and Graphic Design. Later she studied Web Design and Advertising Creativity in Madrid, and currently works as a freelance illustrator in her own studio.
She works for private clients on request and for publishers such as Planeta Editorial, Roca Editorial, and Penguin Random House, with whom she published her first illustrated book, together with David Aceituno, "Las Palabras (no) Se Las Lleva El Viento" (Words Are (not) Blown By The Wind) by Lumen (2016).
Drawing has been her passion since she was a child, and she has always liked everything related to the world of art, drawing, painting, design, ceramics, crafts, photography...
She likes to research and experiment with different techniques and motifs continuously, although her favorite subject is the portrait. Currently, her most personal work is focused on illustrating portraits, mostly feminine, with delicate strokes and combining different techniques, (gouache, ink, digital painting, colored pencils, oil) where watercolor and pencil predominate.

Ana Santos es una artista e ilustradora que vive y el trabajo en España. Es Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Salamanca con especialización en Dibujo y Diseño Gráfico. Más tarde estudió Diseño Web y Creatividad Publicitaria en Madrid, y actualmente trabaja como ilustradora independiente en su propio estudio.
Trabaja para clientes privados a pedido y para editoriales como Editorial Planeta, Roca Editorial y Penguin Random House, con quien publicó su primer libro ilustrado, junto con David Aceituno, "Las Palabras (no) Se Las Lleva El Viento" de Lumen (2016).
El dibujo ha sido su pasión desde que era una niña, y siempre le ha gustado todo lo relacionado con el mundo del arte, el dibujo, la pintura, el diseño, la cerámica, la artesanía, la fotografía...
Le gusta investigar y experimentar continuamente con diferentes técnicas y motivos, aunque su tema favorito es el retrato. Actualmente, su trabajo más personal se centra en ilustrar retratos, en su mayoría femeninos, con trazos delicados y combinando diferentes técnicas (témpera, tinta, pintura digital, lápices de colores, óleo) donde predominan la acuarela y el lápiz.
