With Your Own Hands: Cord Taco

We love to travel (as you may know at this point) and of course headphones are one of the things we always carry in our traveling bag, but headphones fall victims of a messy full of stuff bag in no time, that’s why we decided to do this DIY cord taco inspired by the originals made by This Is Ground, we added a twist of color and made it more fun. It’s super easy we hope you decide give it a try.
What you need:
- Piece of leather (whichever color you decide)
- Fabric
- Fabric Scissors
- Leather Scissors
- Glue
- Circular object
- Pen
- Needle and Thread
- Button
- Leather punch
1. Trace a circle using your circular object
onto the leather and the fabric, we used a bowl with 4" in diameter. Draw the circles on
the back side of the leather and the fabric.
2. Cut the circles, we suggest that you use
a leather and a fabric scissors because they work better and make cleaner cuts, but of course, you can use your regular scissors as well.
3. Then fold the circle in half and crease
it. Mark where you want to sew the button. Once you sew it fold the circle and use the position of your button as reference to make
your buttonhole on the opposite site.
4. Glue the two circles together by the
center and with the leather punch make small holes all around it. Sew them together. You can use a sewing machine if you have one.
And that’s it! We are done! Wrap up your
cords and travel on!

Nos encanta viajar (como ya se pudieron
dar cuenta) y por supuesto los auriculares son una de las cosas que siempre
llevamos en nuestro bolso de viaje, pero los auriculares y los cargadores son
víctimas de un total desorden y enrede dentro de la bolsa en muy poco tiempo, por
lo que decidimos hacer esta manualidad, tacos
para guardar cables inspirados en los originales realizados por This Is Ground,
hemos añadido un toque de color para hacerlo más divertido. Es súper fácil y esperamos que decidan intentarlo.
Lo que necesitan:
- Cuero (cualquier color que gusten)
- Tela
- Tijeras para tela
- Tijeras para cuero
- Pegamento
- Objeto circular
- Marcador
- Aguja e hilo
- Botón
- Perforadora de cuero
Instrucciones:
2. Cortar los círculos, sugerimos que se utilicen tijeras para cortar cuero y tijeras para tela porque funcionan mejor y hacen cortes más limpios, pero claro, pueden usar tus tijeras regulares también.
3. Luego doblar el círculo de tela por la
mitad y marcar donde se desea coser el botón. Una vez que se cose doblar el
círculo otra vez y usar la posición del botón como referencia para hacer el ojal en el lado opuesto.
4. Pegar los dos círculos unidos por el
centro y con la perforadora de cuero hacer agujeros pequeños a su alrededor y
luego coserlos. Pueden usar una máquina de coser si tienen una.
¡Y listo! ¡Hemos terminado! ¡Envuelve tus
audífonos y tus cables y a viajar!
