Art We Love: Oana Befort

Oana Befort is a Romanian-born graphic artist and freelance illustrator based in the Midwest, United States. She works in mixed media and her illustrations are inspired by the natural world, her love of flora and fauna, folk motifs, nostalgia, sunlight and her everyday life.
She graduated from the National University of Arts in Bucharest, Romania, with a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communication. Prior to becoming a freelancer, she worked in advertising agencies creating designs and illustrations for various clients such as Coca-Cola. As a freelancer, she has worked for companies in the likes of Anthropologie, Hallmark, Papyrus Greetings, Usborne Publishing, Quarto Publishing, Etsy, and Urban Outfitters, and has done editorial work for publications like Mollie Makes Magazine, Uppercase Magazine, Flow Magazine, Artful Blogging Magazine, Picture Perfect Social Media book, and the list goes on.
She draws inspiration from playing with her two young children, caring for her plants, cooking home-made meals, walking through botanical gardens or art museums, and going through the book sections of antique stores.

Oana Befort es una artista gráfica e ilustradora independiente nacida en Rumania y con sede en el Medio Oeste de los Estados Unidos. Trabaja en medios mixtos y sus ilustraciones están inspiradas en el mundo natural, su amor por la flora y la fauna, los motivos populares, la nostalgia, la luz del sol y su vida cotidiana.
Se graduó de la Universidad Nacional de Artes en Bucarest, Rumania, con una Maestría en Diseño Gráfico y Comunicación Visual. Antes de convertirse en profesional independiente, trabajó en agencias de publicidad creando diseños e ilustraciones para varios clientes como Coca-Cola. Como profesional independiente, ha trabajado para empresas como Anthropologie, Hallmark, Papyrus Greetings, Usborne Publishing, Quarto Publishing, Etsy, y Urban Outfitters, y ha realizado trabajos editoriales para publicaciones como Mollie Makes Magazine, Uppercase Magazine, Flow Magazine, Artful Blogging Magazine, Picture Perfect Social Media book, y la lista continúa.
Ella encuentra inspiración al jugar con sus dos hijos pequeños, cuidando sus plantas, cocinando comidas caseras, paseando por jardines botánicos o museos de arte, y revisando las secciones de libros de las tiendas de antigüedades.
