Hello, Val again. Here is the 2nd part of my list of places and things you cannot miss in a visit to NYC. You can read Part I here.

9- Planetarium, Museum of Natural History, Rose Center for Earth and Space

Visit the giant blue whale or the 32 million species that they have. At the heart of the Rose Center for Earth and Space is an 87-foot-diameter sphere that appears to float inside a glass cube. Its upper half constitutes the Hayden Planetarium (100% recommended) which features a digital Dome Projection System to display a hyper realistic view of the planets, star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies, and uses a scientifically accurate 3D map of the observable universe.

10- NYC Public Library

With nearly 53 million items, the New York Public Library is the second largest public library in the United States and fourth largest in the world. The library was developed in the 19th century, besides the books the architecture of the building it’s beautiful.

11- 9/11 Memorial

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum commemorates the September 11, 2001 attacks, which killed 2,977 victims, and the World Trade Center bombing of 1993, whish killed six. The memorial is located at the World Trade Center site, and was designed by Israeli architect Michael Arad of Handel Architects.

12- Grand Central Terminal

Inaugurated in February 1913 and renovated in 1998, Grand Central Terminal is one of the architectural jewels of New York. It is a place that has managed to survive preserving its style for almost a century.

13- Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. It was built between 1870 and 1883 and at the time of its inauguration, was the world's largest suspension bridge until 1889, it measures 1,825 meters long, and its span between piles is 486.3 meters. It is one of the most recognizable symbols of New York.

14- Bronx Zoo

The Bronx Zoo is located in the Bronx borough, within the Bronx Park. It is among the largest metropolitan zoos in the world, and is one of the largest in North America, with some 4,000 animals representing about 650 species from around the world.

15-  Magnolia Bakery

Magnolia Bakery opened its first location on a quiet street corner in the heart of New York City’s West Village. From its inception, Magnolia Bakery has been cherished for its classic American baked goods, vintage decor and warm, inviting atmosphere.

16- Soho, China Town, Greenwich Village

China Town is Manhattan’s most popular ethnic neighborhood, full of busy eateries and exotic street markets.

Soho, the grid of streets that runs South of Houston Street, has lost many of its artists, but its trademark cast-iron buildings still play host to unique stores and eateries as well as several members of the publishing and architectural avant-garde.

Greenwich Village often referred to by locals as simply “The Village” is a neighborhood on the west side of Lower Manhattan. Greenwich Village has been known as an artists' haven, the bohemian capital, the cradle of the modern LGBT movement, and the East Coast birthplace of both the Beat and ‘60s counterculture movements. You can visit Washington Square Park and NYU.

Visita la gigante ballena azul o cualquiera de los 32 millones de especies que posee. En el corazón del Rose Center for Earth se encuentra una esfera de 87 pies de diámetro que parece estar flotando dentro de un cubo de cristal, la mitad superior constituye el Hayden Planetarium (se los recomiendo 100%) que posee un sistema digital de proyección en la bóveda para mostrar una vista hiperrealista de los planetas, cúmulos estelares, nebulosas y galaxias, utiliza un mapa en 3D científicamente exacta del universo observable.

10- Biblioteca Pública de Nueva York

Con casi 53 millones de artículos, la Biblioteca Pública de Nueva York es la segunda biblioteca pública más grande en los Estados Unidos y la cuarta más grande en el mundo. La biblioteca fue desarrollada en el siglo 19, además de todos  los libros que puedes encontrar en ella puedes disfrutar de la hermosa  arquitectura del edificio.

11- 9/11 Memorial

El Memorial Nacional del 11 de Septiembre & Museo conmemoran los atentados del 11 de septiembre de 2001, que dejaron a 2,977 víctimas, y el bombardeo del World Trade Center de 1993, en el que murieron seis personas. Inaugurada en febrero de 1913 y reformada en 1998, Grand Central Terminal es una de las joyas arquitectónicas de Nueva York. Es un lugar que ha conseguido sobrevivir conservando su estilo durante casi un siglo.

El Puente de Brooklyn une los distritos de Manhattan y Brooklyn en la ciudad de Nueva York. Fue construido entre 1,870 y 1,883 y, en el momento de su inauguración, era el puente colgante más grande del mundo hasta 1,889, mide 1,825 metros de largo, y la luz entre piletos es de 486.3 metros. Es en uno de los símbolos más reconocibles de Nueva York.

14- Zoológico del Bronx

El Zoológico del Bronx se encuentra en el Barrio Bronx, dentro del Bronx Park. Es uno de los zoológicos metropolitanos más grandes en el mundo, y es uno de los más grandes de América del Norte, con unos 4,000 animales que representan alrededor de 650 especies de todo el mundo.

16- Soho, China Town, Greenwich Village

China Town es el más popular barrio étnico de Manhattan, posee un montón de restaurantes y exóticos mercados callejeros.

Soho es la cuadrícula de calles que se extiende al sur de la calle Houston, ha perdido muchos de sus artistas, pero sus edificios de hierro fundido todavía son su marca distintiva, es anfitrión de tiendas y restaurantes únicos, así como varios miembros del medio de la publicación y la vanguardia arquitectónica.

Greenwich Village llamado a menudo como simplemente "The Village" es un barrio en el lado oeste de Manhattan. Greenwich Village ha sido conocido como refugio de artistas, la capital  Bohemia, la cuna del movimiento LGBT moderno, y el lugar de nacimiento del ritmo y los movimientos de los ‘60s en la costa Este.
