Hello, do you remember my trip to NYC? Well today I'm continuing telling you more of the places I love and that you must visit, this is the last part. Art, good food, cool places, and all the good things this city has to offer. Check out Part I and Part II.
17. Washington
Square
In the center of
the Greenwich Village commemorating Henry James' 1880 novel of that title and
is haunted by many of the village’s illustrious past residents. It’s too large
to be a square and too small to be a park, but it does retain its northern
edging of red brick row houses, its Triumphal Arch is impossible to miss,
built in 1892.
18. Bryant Park
This French
garden surrounded by skyscrapers located in midtown Manhattan with an area of
3.9 hectares is one of the coolest places in town, the Public Library is
located there. In the park offers different activities, concerts, recitals,
dance, theater, music and classes that are entirely free. Definitely if you go
to New York is a place you should stop by, learn about their activities here.
19. Lincoln
Center
Also known as the
Lincoln Center for The Performing Arts is a complex of buildings dedicated to
the arts, is one of the largest centers for performing arts in the world, it is
located in the upper west side of Manhattan. Is home to the NY City Ballet, the
NY Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, American Ballet, the Juilliard School
and others. It was built under the program of Robert Moses urban renewal of the
city in 1960. It has 7 halls.
Paving the way to
world-class performance since 1962, Lincoln Center invites art savants and
newcomers alike to see what it feels like to let art in. Renowned for an
eclectic mix of thousands of events held annually and a groundswell of creative
energy all throughout the masterfully designed campus, you could come every day
of the year and still only scratch the surface.
20. Rockefeller
Center
The Rockefeller Center is a complex of 19 buildings of shops and theaters like Radio City Music Hall. Located in central New York. Its most important building is the General Electric skyscraper, built in 1930, which has 70 floors and is 266 meters high.
Located on the
70th floor of the General Electric is the observatory Top of The Rock where you
can see the Empire State Building and Central Park. During the holiday season
this place becomes one of the liveliest areas of NYC and visited for its famous
ice-skating rink and large Christmas tree.
21. Seaport
It is a historic and touristic area of New York City, located in the southeast of Manhattan and adjacent to the Financial District. Commercial buildings of the early nineteenth century, Fulton Fish Market, art galleries, shopping malls, restaurants, bars and a museum are located in this zone. Besides that you can see boats and sailboats restored along the harbor and museum ships in the dock No. 17. From the pier you have an excellent view of the Brooklyn Bridge.
In Seaport a
shopping center and a tourism center are built on Pier 17 on the East River.
Visitors can choose from many shops and a food court. At the entrance to the
port is the Titanic Memorial Lighthouse.
22. Strand
Bookstore
Strand Bookstore the haven for readers. It is located at 828 Broadway & 12th Street; e-books are cheaper but nothing like having a book in your hands. It is the legendary home of 18,000 new, used and rare books, it is a place where books are loved, I loved a section with books displayed with a hand written note by the author about their work. There are plenty of goodies for the fans of reading and art lovers; they always have a lot of events in which you can participate.

23. Serendipity 3
Is a restaurant
located in the east side founded by Stephen Bruce in 1954. The restaurant has
been the scene of several films. It has the most expensive dessert listed in
the Guinness Book of World Records at US$1,000. Its famous Frozen Hot Chocolate
is delicious; you can find the recipe in a book call Sweet Serendipity with
recipes and the history of the restaurant in the store inside the restaurant.

17. Washington
Square
En el centro del
Village conmemorando la novela de ese título de Henry James en el 1880 es frecuentado
por muchos de los pasados residentes ilustres. Es demasiado grande para ser una
plaza y demasiado pequeño para ser un parque, pero sí conserva en su borde
norte la hilera de casas de ladrillos rojos, su Arco de Triunfo
es imposible de perder construido en 1892.
18. Bryant Park
Este jardín
francés rodeado de rascacielos se encuentra en el “midtown” Manhattan con una
superficie de 3.9 hectáreas es uno de los más chulos lugares en la ciudad, en
él se encuentra la Biblioteca Pública. En el parque se realizan diferentes
actividades, conciertos, recitales, danza, teatro, música y clases totalmente
gratis. Definitivamente si vas a Nueva York es un lugar al que no debes dejar
de ir, entérate de sus actividades aquí.
19. Lincoln
Center
Conocido también
como Lincoln Center Para Las Artes Escénicas es un complejo de edificios
dedicados a las artes, es uno de los centros para las artes escénicas mas
grandes del mundo, se encuentra en el "upper west side" de Manhattan.
Sirve de sede al NY City Ballet, a la Filarmónica de NY, a la Opera
Metropolitana, el American Ballet, la Escuela Juilliard entre otros. Fue
construido bajo el programa de Robert Moses de renovación urbana de la ciudad
en 1960. Cuenta con 7 salas.
Allanando el
camino para un desempeño de clase mundial desde 1962, el Lincoln Center invita
a eruditos y recién llegados al arte a experimentar qué se siente dejar que el
arte fluya. Reconocido por una mezcla ecléctica de miles de eventos que se
realizan anualmente y una oleada de energía creativa esparcidos por todo
el campus, se podría ir todos los días del año y aún así sólo arañar la
superficie.

piso 70 del rascacielos General Electric está el mirador Top of The Rock desde
donde se pueden ver el Empire State Building y el Central Park. Durante las
fiestas navideñas este lugar se vuelve una de las zonas más animadas y
visitadas por su famosa pista de patinaje sobre hielo y el gran árbol de Navidad.
21. Seaport
Es una zona
histórica y turístiva de la ciudad de Nueva York, situado en el sureste de
Manhattan y al lado del Distrito Financiero. Se encuentran edificios
comerciales de comienzos del siglo XIX, el Mercado de Pescados Fulton, galerías
de arte, centros comerciales con tiendas, restaurantes, bares y un museo.
Además de que se pueden ver barcos y veleros restaurados a lo largo del puerto
así como barcos museos, en el muelle No. 17. Desde el muelle se tiene una
excelente vista del puente de Brooklyn.
En el Seaport un
centro comercial y un centro de turismo son construidos sobre Pier 17 en el
East River. Los visitantes pueden elegir entre muchas tiendas y lugares de
comida. En la entrada al puerto está el Faro Titanic Memorial.

el paraíso para los lectores. Está ubicada en 828 Broadway & 12th Street,
sé que los e-books nos resuelven la vida en comodidad y ahorro pero nada como
tener un libro entre tus manos. Es el legendario hogar de 18 mil libros nuevos,
usados y raros, es un lugar donde los libros son amados, me encantó una sección
donde junto a los libros exhibidos hay una nota escrita a puño y letra por el
autor o autora sobre su obra. Hay un montón de regalitos para los fans de la
lectura y las artes, además siempre tienen un montón de eventos en los que
puedes participar.
23. Serendipity 3
Es un restaurante
ubicado en el lado este fundado por Stephen Bruce en 1954. El restaurante ha
sido escenario de varias películas. Tiene el postre más caro que aparece en el
Libro Guinness de Los Récords Mundiales a un precio de US$1,000. Su famoso Chocolate
Caliente Helado es delicioso, se puede encontrar la receta en un libro llamado
Dulce Serendipity con recetas y la historia del restaurante que se puede
comprar en la tienda dentro del restaurante.
