Art We Love: Gustavo Aimar

Gustavo Aimar is a fine artist, illustrator and graphic designer born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, who lives and works in Trelew, in the Argentinian Patagonia. Thanks to his love and curiosity for drawing and art in general, he attended various artistic expression workshops from an early age, and studied and obtained the title of National Drawing Master at the Trelew Multipurpose Art Center. In 1993 he returned to Buenos Aires to study the career of Graphic Design.
Since 1986 he has participated, either as a student, artist or illustrator, in different exhibitions and galleries. He was selected to participate in the sample of Argentine illustrators at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2008 and at the Bratislava Biennial of Illustration in 2009.
He currently works as an illustrator of children's and youth books and other publications and devotes his free time to his personal projects and works. His main source of inspiration and encouragement are the materials he selects to work.

Gustavo Aimar es un artista plástico, ilustrador y diseñador gráfico nacido en Buenos Aires, Argentina, que vive y trabaja en Trelew, en la Patagonia Argentina. Gracias a su amor y curiosidad por el dibujo y el arte en general asistió a diversos talleres de expresión artística desde muy temprana edad, y estudió y obtuvo el título de Maestro Nacional de Dibujo en el Centro Polivalente de Arte de Trelew, en 1993 regresó a Buenos Aires para estudiar la carrera de Diseño Gráfico.
Desde 1986 ha participado, ya sea como estudiante, artista o ilustrador, en diferentes muestras y salones de artes plásticas. Fue seleccionado para participar en la muestra de ilustradores argentinos en la Feria del Libro Infantil de Bolonia en 2008 y en la Bienal de Ilustración de Bratislava en 2009.
En la actualidad trabaja como ilustrador de libros infantiles y juveniles y otras publicaciones, y dedica su tiempo libre a sus proyectos y obras personales. Su principal fuente de inspiración y estímulo son los materiales que selecciona para trabajar.
