For this year's last post in honour of Creativity Week, we're sharing with you these creativity affirmations cards to boost your creative confidence and inspire you to create.
If you're a regular reader of this blog, you probably know that we reiterate constantly the fact that everyone has the capability for creative thinking and everyone can be or learn to be creative. And we do it because we've noticed that oftentimes people lack creative confidence to the point where they don't even consider themselves to be creative.
As Tom and David Kelley say in their book Creative Confidence: “Creativity, far from requiring rare gifts and skills, depends on what you believe you can do with the talents and skills you already have.” Creativity is a conscious choice we must make, to be creative you have to believe that you can imagine and create great things and you have to be intentional about it. Nobody is stopping you from being creative but yourself.
In our previous blog post where we shared 9 TED-Ed Lessons About or Related to Creativity, we included a short animated video titled "3 Tips to Boost Your Confidence" by TED-Ed and Kozmonot Animation Studio. According to this lesson, three of the things that affect our confidence and the things over which we have control are the choices we make, the risks we take, and how we think about and respond to challenges and setbacks.
We actually have the power to cultivate our own confidence by following these three tips:
1- A quick fix: Picturing ourselves being successful before starting a difficult task, giving ourselves a pep talk or striking a powerful pose can give us an immediate confidence boost in the short term.
2- Believing in our ability to improve: Adopting a growth mindset, thinking our abilities can improve and seeing challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, will give us a long-term boost in confidence. The way we think about our abilities and talents matters because it can influence how we act when faced with setbacks. Neuroscience supports the growth mindset, the connections in our brains do get stronger and grow with study and practice.
3- Practicing failure: Studies show that those who fail regularly and keep trying anyway are better equipped to respond to challenges and setbacks in a constructive way. They learn how to try different strategies, ask others for advice, and persevere.
So, we made these creativity affirmation cards to help you adopt a growth mindset and believe in your creative skills and ability to improve, boosting your creative confidence. Keep them in your creative space, your office or inside your journal and/or agenda (we also made a couple of envelopes for this), and look at them and read them often so you imprint them on your mind.

Para el último artículo de este año en honor a la Semana de la Creatividad, estamos compartiendo contigo estas tarjetas de afirmaciones de creatividad para ayudarte a aumentar tu confianza creativa e inspirarte a crear.
Si eres un/a lector/a habitual de este blog, probablemente sepas que reiteramos constantemente el hecho de que todos/as tenemos la capacidad de pensamiento creativo y todos/as podemos ser o aprender a ser creativos/as. Y lo hacemos porque hemos notado que muchas veces las personas carecen de confianza creativa hasta el punto en que ni siquiera se consideran creativas.
Como Tom y David Kelley dicen en su libro Confianza Creativa: "La creatividad, lejos de requerir regalos y habilidades especiales, depende de lo que creas que puedes hacer con los talentos y las habilidades que ya tienes". La creatividad es una elección consciente que debemos hacer, para ser creativo/a, debes creer que puedes imaginar y crear grandes cosas y debes ser intencional al respecto. Nadie te está deteniendo de ser creativo/a, sino tú mismo/a.
En nuestra publicación anterior de blog, donde compartimos 9 lecciones de TED-Ed sobre o relacionadas con la creatividad, incluimos un video corto animado titulado "3 consejos para aumentar tu confianza" por TED-Ed y el estudio de animación Kozmonot. Según esta lección, tres de las cosas que afectan nuestra confianza y las cosas sobre las que tenemos control son: las elecciones que tomamos, los riesgos que tomamos, y cómo pensamos sobre y respondemos a los desafíos y contratiempos.
En realidad, tenemos el poder de cultivar nuestra propia confianza siguiendo estos tres consejos:
1- Una solución rápida: imaginarnos tener éxito antes de comenzar una tarea difícil, darnos una charla motivadora a nosotros/as mismos/as o asumir una postura poderosa puede darnos un aumento de confianza inmediato a corto plazo.
2- Creer en nuestra capacidad para mejorar: Adoptar una mentalidad de crecimiento, pensar que nuestras habilidades pueden mejorar y ver los desafíos como oportunidades para aprender y crecer, nos dará un aumento de confianza a largo plazo. La forma en que pensamos en nuestras habilidades y talentos importa porque puede influir en cómo actuamos cuando nos enfrentamos a contratiempos. La neurociencia apoya la mentalidad de crecimiento, las conexiones en nuestros cerebros se hacen más fuertes y crecen con el estudio y la práctica.
3- Practicar equivocarse: los estudios muestran que aquellos/as que fallan regularmente y siguen intentando de todos modos están mejor equipados/as para responder a los desafíos y contratiempos de una manera constructiva. Aprenden cómo probar diferentes estrategias, a pedir consejos a otros, y a perseverar.
Entonces, hicimos estas tarjetas de afirmaciones de creatividad para ayudarte a adoptar una mentalidad de crecimiento y creer en tus habilidades creativas y tu capacidad para mejorar, y a su vez, aumentar tu confianza creativa. Mantenlas en tu espacio creativo, tu oficina o dentro de tu diario y/o agenda (también hicimos un par de sobres para esto), y míralas y léelas a menudo para que las grabes en tu mente.
